If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more? But, word of warning, you may want to read this one rather than listen to it. Action, fight sequences, romance, puzzles - this book has it all. Now, the story itself was great and exactly the kind of audiobook I look for. I almost cringe at how the other reviewers are going to react. I'm not being harsh or mean, I'm just being truthful. Making sure the narrator's diction is crisp and precise shouldn't get in the way of the story itself, and it did here. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say he/she is in the .WORK. I don't really think it was Casey Holloway's fault though, I think she was given some extremely bad direction on how this story should sound because the choppiness seemed extremely deliberate and consistant (beginning to end unfortunately) For the record, who ever thought a monotoned, robotic voice was a good idea, made the wrong call. I'm conflicted about writing this review because while I liked the story, the narrator was terrible. And if they're both going to survive, they must piece together the clues of their past before the Branch catches up to them and steals it all away. She soon discovers that she and Sam are connected in more ways than either of them expected.

Now on the run, her father's warning in her head, Anna begins to doubt everything she thought she knew about herself. Sam and the boys don't remember anything before living in the lab - not even their true identities. But her father pushes her to go, making Sam promise to keep her away from the Branch, at all costs. Anna is torn between following Sam or staying behind in the safety of her everyday life.

When the Branch decides it's time to take the boys, Sam stages an escape, killing the agents sent to retrieve them. Reserved and always controlled, Sam does everything with purpose.

There's Nick, solemn and brooding Cas, lighthearted and playful Trev, smart and caring and Sam.who's stolen Anna's heart. Her father works for the Branch at the helm of its latest project: monitoring and administering treatments to the four genetically altered boys in the lab below their farmhouse. When you can't trust yourself, who can you believe?Įverything about Anna's life is a secret.
